DES MOINES, IA — Two organizations are announcing a string of voter registration, turnout, and education events in multiple Iowa communities in the lead-up to the November 3rd, 2020 general election. Iowa is considered a battleground state for control of the United States Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and the White House in 2020.

“Now is the time to get active,” said No Justice No Peace PAC Director of Partnerships Rev. Rob Johnson. “We can’t afford to stay home, comfortable, and in our little bunkers. We need to vote. It’s our civic responsibility, duty, and moral obligation to vote.”

New Frontier Action Fund is a partner in hosting these events in Sioux City, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Iowa City, and Fort Dodge. New Frontier Action Fund is a non-profit focused on civic engagement, economic and social justice, and voting. Former Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Eddie Mauro founded New Frontier Action Fund in the Summer of 2020.

“While the pandemic, and Governor Reynolds’ lack of leadership, is making voting a bit more difficult, we want to do everything we can to encourage participation – while doing it safely,” said Mauro. He continued, “We will be following social distancing and mask-wearing protocols, helping people register to vote, and encouraging Iowans to request an absentee ballot and vote early by mail.”

Iowa has “no excuse” absentee voting provisions and same-day voter registration. A record turnout in the 2020 U.S. Senate primary in Iowa and General Election turnout is poised to break records yet again. Event details can be found on the organization’s website at Still, events will be run from 10 am – 2 pm in the following cities: Sioux City, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Iowa City, Davenport, and Ft. Dodge.
