About

No Justice No Peace | Our Mission

No Justice No Peace is developing & supporting public policy that advances the interests of economic, racial, social, and environmental justice for all people at the local, county, state, and federal levels. We engage in elections. We register voters. We help people vote.

All in pursuit of racial, social, economic, reproductive, and environmental justice. This work includes:

  • Supporting candidates for public elected offices that support policies that advance the interests of economic, racial, social, and reproductive justice for all people at the local, county, state, and federal levels.
  • Protecting the right to vote for all people, while recognizing that our voting laws disproportionately discriminate against Black, Brown Indigenous, and all People of Color.
  • Supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement through electoral programs, voter registration, and turnout efforts at the local, county, state, and federal levels.
  • Educating the public on how people can get involved with our programs in order to make a difference in their communities by promoting volunteerism.

No Justice No Peace | Overview of Our Work

The Des Moines Register interviewed NJNP Director of Partnerships Rob Johnson about why we founded No Justice No Peace. You can find the full article here.

“We wanted those candidates on the ticket to know these policy changes are something we’re serious about,” Johnson said. “Our message is clear: You cannot ignore this. You cannot just say Black lives matter, but then push policies that do not help Black lives.”

“We are going to fight like hell to make sure policies reflect Black lives really do matter. … We want to make sure this sticks for generations to come,” Johnson continued.
